Sovereign, the largest housing association in the south and south west of England, wanted to increase the number of unique visitors to its website and improve the rankings of the brand term to a number one position.


Working within the constraints of the organisation’s existing website, we advised Sovereign on improving the site’s organic visibility and presence across search engines, through content changes and improvements to regional office profiles.
A key element of our strategy was the development of a blog which would aid the positioning of the organisation as a thought leader. The blog, built using WordPress CMS platform making it easy to use, was launched to coincide with a speech by the author at a major housing conference. As well as creating strong Twitter interest, the content was picked up by industry magazine Inside Housing and then by The Guardian newspaper.



The website already included good quality content, but our SEO strategy increased its effectiveness and resulted in far greater engagement with users. The brand term ‘Sovereign’ now achieves the number 1 spot in the search engines and we continue to work with Sovereign’s digital marketing team to continually improve rankings and advising on its forthcoming re-brand/website and internal infrastructure review.


Founded in 1926 in Brussels by the Draps family, Godiva opened their first shop in the Grand Place in Brussels under its present name, in honour of the legend of Lady Godiva.

Godiva is steeped in history and has built its reputation as one of the very best Chocolatiers in the world.  The company has created the ultimate chocolate experience for its passionate customers.

Today with over 600 owned Boutiques and a presence in more than 100 countries worldwide, Godiva has grown into a truly global and premium brand.


In 2018 Godiva approached Generate UK to help them develop their brand throughout the European travel retail market. Following a series of creative meetings, a collaborative partnership was developed and a plan was put in place. Work started on designing and creating concepts on several projects which included a variety of marketing, product and promotional design creations.

In the quest to continually position themselves as the ultimate chocolatier and to keep pace with its continued growth, Godiva’s European operations increased significantly, as did their design requirements.


The Challenge

To create inspired designs which would help bring the Godiva brand and products to the fore in both airports and cruise ships using the existing brand identity with an influence of the region, whilst proudly celebrating the uniqueness of its heritage.

The Result

Since then and over the last couple of years Generate UK has designed several European customised sleeves for different European destinations, innovative presentation materials and promotional items such as playing cards and sunglasses for special events.

Engaging Audiences With An Explainer Animation


Feedback Ferret is one of the global leaders in Feedback Analysis, using text analytics to transform customer feedback comments into actionable insights. Website visitors are often quick to click, hesitant to read thick paragraphs of text. Though Feedback Ferret’s services aren’t particularly complex service, they were having trouble quickly communicating their core service to both website visitors and prospects.


Feedback Ferret needed to inform their audience exactly what they do, in order to retain audience attention. GUK wanted to create an asset that succinctly summarised Feedback Ferrets services without going into the core detail of ‘how’. After much discussion, we decided the solution was to create a high-impact, 60 second explainer animation with an additional Script and Voiceover, one catering to Feedback Ferret’s UK market and one to the US market.


Generate UK stepped up to the challenge and the feedback we received from the Ferrets was amazing! Feedback Ferret loved the characters in the animation so much that they implemented them across their website with the intention of making them core to their branding in the future.

Newbury & Crookham Golf Club Website Design & Development


Newbury & Crookham Golf Club, situated in the heart of West Berkshire required a new website to better showcase what the golf club had to offer, improving the users experience and the functionality to support their members through an online members area.The requirements included:

  • Creating a website design to display the golf club and stunning golf course in all its glory, promoting why Newbury & Crookham Golf Club should be on every golfer’s play list.
  • To create a website journey to allow visitors, both members and non-members, to easily navigate and gain access to information.
  • To create a member’s area that would allow each member to login and see their personal information including fixture information, a member’s directory, competition schedules, committee information and the ability to access information about the latest development news and plans.

Newbury & Crookham Golf club were keen to work with a Website Design and Development Agency who could provide a fresh approach, overcome their immediate challenges and to develop a website and marketing partner to support their long-term requirements.


Through consultation Generate UK built the site on WordPress, as it offered flexibility around the requirements allowing the Office and Admin team to easily administer the backend of the website.

During the design phase we made sure the website adopted a clean look and feel and where possible, visually show off the golf club through video and imagery. We also designed the website, so the members’ area was easy to navigate, allowing members to manage and view their accounts on a self-serve basis and access to HowDidido.

Our developers used a range of plugins to successfully meet the requirements.


By focusing on the Golf Club’s primary objectives and discussing the project with committee members throughout the process meant that we were able to respond and adapt to the client’s feedback in an agile and flexible way. The result ensured that the objectives were met designing and developing a visually appealing, yet user friendly website for both visitors and administrators.

Bespoke advent calendar for Q Associates clients


Q Associates are an award-winning data, platform and services specialist. After being let down by a supplier, Q Associates approached GenerateUK to help them out of a tricky situation – to not only design, but print, 150 advent calendars and deliver them in time to be sent out to their clients for the start of December. Q Associates wanted the calendar to feature jokes, facts and messages, as well as incorporating enough space for a chocolate behind each door.


Given the short time frame, it was vital that GenerateUK delivered on all requirements. Having previously printed a flat A4 advent calendar for Q Associates, we were able to use the same print cutter guide – this provided a more time and cost-effective approach. A traditional plastic inner tray would have taken too long to produce and been very expensive, so the decision was made to create it out of 10mm Foamex, keeping weight and costs down.


The Foamex was routed with 24 square holes, before chocolate coins were inserted and the digitally printed outer was wrapped around the Foamex. Due to the rigidity of the Foamex, the calendar doors were left partly open at the edge to allow for easy access to the chocolates. A very challenging project was designed, printed and delivered in three weeks and in time for Q Associates to send out in time for advent. The client received many positive comments about the final calendar and said “Calendars look amazing thank you – we are so pleased, thanks for all your hard work”.

Logo and branded material for new Quarrywatch initiative


The Mineral Products industry has a unique history of creating habitats for nature on restored quarries. The Mineral Products Association (MPA) which represents the sector, has recently launched Quarrywatch, an initiative aimed at local wildlife groups, enthusiasts and schools, which involves focussed nature surveys on designated sites with the aim of building a much bigger picture of the species that are colonising restored quarries and other nature sites.


As Quarrywatch is aimed more at the general public –rather than customers/consumers – it was thought that a more ‘friendly’ and ‘playful’ logo would be more appropriate. Working with the MPA, a range of initial concepts were put forward, these varied in approaches and styles to give the MPA as much scope as possible. The logos tried to convey the fun nature of the project. From the feedback provided 2 possible logos were worked on until the final version was chosen.


Once the final logo was chosen, a second version was set up that members could use to show they supported the campaign. The logo was worked up into colour, mono and whiteout versions. Multiple file formats were then supplied to the MPA to distribute to their members. The logo was then applied to printed items such as pullup banners for an exhibition, posters (in various sizes) for outdoor promotion and a PVC banner for an outdoor event.

On and offline award showcase brochure


The Mineral Products Association (MPA) is the trade association for the aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, dimension stone, lime, mortar and silica sand industries. It has a growing membership of 480 companies and is the sectoral voice for mineral products. The MPA host an annual health and safety awards ceremony which showcases good practices from their members. They needed a way to present members with the entries and winners.


In order for their members to see all of the entries after the awards we produce a large Health and Safety Guide. This brochure contains all of the individual entries in their respective categories. The entries are accompanied with text and images . The guide is a close collaboration between GenerateUK and the MPA’s PR company Daybreak Communications. The guide is like a giant jigsaw puzzle, and requires many iterations to get all the entries to fit within a strict layout format and timescale.


A small digital run is produced for a large company meeting, once reviewed and amends made then 3000 copies of this brochure are produced and handed out to the MPA’s members, an interactive PDF version is also created to sit on their website. The interactive version allows members to click through to the MPA’s YouTube channel where the winners of each category have a video which showcases their entry. The Guide is always well received and we have been producing this brochure for nearly 10 years.

Creating a strong and professional brand


OTS Solicitors has quickly established a highly respected reputation for being a proactive, professional, and forward-thinking firm, becoming well known for specialising in UK immigration. With their rapid growth and continued success, OTS were in need of a professional brand to reflect their reputation and quality of work.


After an initial kick off meeting, Generate UK were able to gain valuable insight into how OTS worked, and established the ‘essence’ that is OTS. From this we were able to create a brand that incorporated the 4 core pillars of the company, illustrated by the four segments that come together to form the diamond element in the logo. The ‘T’ in the logo is made of two halves – this represents the two founding members, coming together to create a strong, central unit that depicts the stability of the company.


Generate UK created a strong and inventive brand that OTS not only loved, but believed in. Having a brand you believe in is key to promoting your business with both passion and assurance, which in turn instills confidence in new customers you are selling to. OTS were delighted with the result, and wanted to incorporate it within all their marketing assets, which we created following the successful branding. This included business cards, stationery, corporate marketing assets and videos.

OTS Solicitors are a respectable law firm specialising in UK immigration and marketing assets were required to help promote their business at meetings and events. At this point, they had not identified the most effective assets for their brand, but following a successful branding project, OTS knew they wanted to incorporate the new logo within these assets to provide consistency across the brand and portray a sense of contemporary professionalism, reflective of OTS itself.


Generate UK worked closely with OTS to establish the most important marketing assets and what would be most effective in connecting with their customers. We created a broad corporate stationery set including; business cards, letterheads, compliment slips, presentation folders, legal corners, and brochures. In addition to this we also created a suite of engaging and informative videos that were integrated across the various marketing channels that OTS operate. All assets utilised the new branding and Generate UK provided creative consultancy and implementation to maximise their value and marketing potential.


All assets carry the new branding and have been exceptionally well received at client meetings and corporate events, prompting enquires from new clients.
