Google Penalty Recovery

Following a number of Google updates, manual and algorithmic penalties are becoming an increasingly common issue – particularly for websites set up with quick fix links or duplicate content. When our client, Amwell Systems, a supplier of washroom products and solutions, received a manual link penalty notification from Google, they required a quick, effective solution.

Using a variety of web tools, Generate UK executed a link analysis of the Amwell Systems website. The process identified that the problem lay in historic low grade links to the website, created by Amwell’s previous agency. This issue had already resulted in a dramatic reduction in search engine rankings and revenue, so a fast, effective plan needed to be put in place. By making contact with webmasters and a comprehensive disavow process, Generate UK were able to block or remove the problem links altogether.

Given the success of the link removal and disavow process, Google revoked Amwell’s penalty without the need for a formal application. Improvements in search engine began two weeks after the process and, following Google’s latest Penguin 3.0 algorithm refresh, the company achieved a top five search engine ranking for most of its key terms.
